Gynecological Examination: What is it and what happens during this process?

A gynecological exam is a medical evaluation performed to check the health of the female reproductive organs, such as the vulva, vagina, cervix, ovaries, and uterus. This exam may include a physical exam, a pelvic exam, a Pap test, and in some cases, a transvaginal ultrasound. Its purpose is to detect possible alterations or diseases, such as infections, ovarian cysts, endometriosis, or cancer in the early stages. It is recommended to perform it routinely, especially after the first menstruation, to ensure optimal reproductive health. Enjoy this exclusive interview with Dr. Giovani Gordon.
