Laparoscopic surgery during pregnancy has evolved significantly, becoming a safe and effective option to treat various non-obstetric pathologies. Although it was previously considered an absolute contraindication, technological advances and accumulated experience have shown that this approach minimizes risks for both the mother and the fetus. Key considerations include careful selection of the timing of surgery, preferably in the second trimester, and rigorous monitoring of maternal and fetal parameters during the procedure. In addition, laparoscopy offers advantages such as faster recovery and less postoperative pain compared to open surgery.
