Facial Fillers: Techniques, Recommendations and Results

In this episode of the PodCast SaludPanama, Dr. Lorena Pinto, a dermatology specialist at the Arosemena Miller Dermatology Clinic, talks to us about the techniques available to apply this type of fillers, specialized recommendations, and the results that can be expected when undergoing an aesthetic procedure.

Facial fillers are popular treatments in aesthetic dermatology that are used to correct wrinkles, fine lines and restore lost facial volume. These procedures involve injecting substances such as hyaluronic acid, collagen and other biomaterials into different layers of the skin to improve its appearance and texture.

Facial fillers offer numerous benefits, including reducing wrinkles and fine lines, increasing volume in areas such as the cheekbones and lips, and improving facial contour. These treatments are less invasive than plastic surgery and typically have shorter recovery times, making them an attractive option for many people.

Popular facial filler techniques include hyaluronic acid fillers, which hydrate and plump the skin; collagen fillers, which provide structure and firmness; and calcium hydroxyapatite fillers, which stimulate collagen production. Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) fillers are also used to provide long-term volume and polyacrylamide fillers to treat deep wrinkles.

It is important to choose a trained professional to perform these treatments, as proper technique is crucial to achieving optimal results and minimizing risks. The effects of facial fillers can last from several months to two years, depending on the type of material used and the individual response of the patient.
