What is vitiligo?

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by progressive depigmentation in different areas of the skin, causing the loss of its natural color. That is, vitiligo is pronounced by presenting white spots on the skin, starting in areas exposed to the sun, such as the face, arms, hands and feet, until it spreads to the rest of the body.

Vitiligo affects 1% of the world's population and it is in recent years that the disease is becoming visible, the general population is becoming informed and raising awareness.

Vitiligo is not contagious and does not put the lives of those who suffer from it at risk.
